Chamarel Waterfall

The Chamarel Waterfall receives water from three streams that flow into the Saint Denis River. The waterfall is most impressive and active during the months of December to April. We recommend putting on your hiking boots and embarking on a three-hour trek to reach the base of the waterfall. There, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool and get up close to the cascading waterfalls. To enhance your experience, we suggest hiring a knowledgeable guide who can lead you through the tropical rainforest. They will provide insights on the birdlife, waterfalls, and geology of the area along the way.

At the waterfall, you will witness the twin waterfalls gracefully plunging over the basalt cliff and descending around 100 meters into the oval-shaped pool below. While the water is the main attraction, it is important not to overlook the significance of the volcanic rock. These rock layers have been formed over a period of 8-10 million years.
