“He was hardworking and courageous,” confides Goolam Chady, the older brother of former minister Siddick Chady, who died Sunday evening at the age of 73. He looked back on his career as a doctor, his political career and his sentence to fifteen months in prison in the Boskalis affair, an ordeal that he describes as very difficult for the family. Goolam Chady says it was Navin Ramgoolam, the leader of the PTr, who convinced Siddick Chady to join politics after his medical studies in Dublin. The funeral of Siddick Chady will take place at 6:30 p.m. this Monday at the Riche-Terre cemetery.
