Thirst (2009)

Warning, sensitive souls, “Thirst” (“Bakjwi” in Korean) is a real treat. Passionate and steamy, this feature-length film depicts the most bloodthirsty vampire in folklore, all enhanced by stunning visuals, a dark and raw atmosphere, and an eternal love story. This K-drama follows the journey of Sang-hyun (Song Kang-ho), a Catholic priest who volunteers for a vaccine development project with horrific consequences. Near death, he accidentally receives a vampire blood transfusion, trading his Roman collar for a life of hedonism. “Thirst” won the Jury Prize at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and was even nominated for the Palme d’Or.
