I am seeking accommodation owned or managed by locals to support them instead of large international companies or oligarchs. Your recommendations would be highly appreciated. 😊

La Koquillishe in Trou d Eau Douce is a family owned and run B&B. Was a brilliant stay. We will definitely go back there.

Try Chantauvent Guest House Mauritius in the South East near Blue Bay Marine Park. Right on the beach too πŸ™‚

Most hotels are owned by locals, some are just managed by international companies.

Beachcomber, attitude, sun resorts, Lux resorts, véranda and héritage resorts are all lokal companies.

If you want smaller – try guest houses – but some are owned by expats, but all employ locals.
