QuestionsSports-ActivitiesI’m seeking advice on climbing Le Morne
Anonymous asked 10 months ago

Hello everyone, I'm seeking advice on climbing Le Morne during my 10-night honeymoon stay at the Lux Le Morne resort, starting on October 9th. Although I had a knee replacement 11 months ago, my mobility is still an issue, especially when going downhill. I managed to climb Snowdon in Wales in August, but I am unsure how Le Morne compares. If anyone in this group has climbed Le Morne with a similar concern, I would appreciate your advice on whether I should bring walking sticks. Thank you in advance.

I climbed it 3 Times.
But from my point of view ,you can try it till you can , to climb till the end you must be fit .

Don’t do it with a dodgy knee.

It is not that difficult only the last part is a bit hard and tricky.

Brian if you think it might be too much, you could always try Piton de la Petite which is actually the highest peak in Mauritius but a much more gentle trek through the Black River National Park. Only the last half km or so is a bit more of a challenge but ropes in place to help get to the peak…..for a full 360deg view. We used Mauritius Tour Guide Saizad to guide us up via the new route there and it was well worth the trip.

Definitely don’t do it mate. To get to the top is a real challenge and coming down is super hard on your knees

The only underwater waterfall in the world can be found just off the coast of Mauritius. It’s actually an illusion that you can only witness from above. The underwater currents and sand flowing off the edge of the ocean floor create an illusion of an underwater waterfall.
