Thanks to RAM Boost technology, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion can use part of its storage memory to increase the RAM up to 24 GB. Le Dimanche/L'Hebdo explains this technology and presents the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.

The internal storage of smartphones on the market is often 512 gigabytes (GB) and can even go up to 1 terabyte (TB) for high-end devices. On the other hand, the random access memory (RAM) is usually between 8 and 16 GB. Manufacturers, including Motorola, have found a trick to give more RAM without changing the RAM. RAM Boost technology allows part of the internal memory to be used as RAM. This is the case of the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. Its RAM is 12 GB, but the system is able to use up to 12 GB of additional internal storage to assign them to RAM, for a total of 24 GB of RAM.

When RAM Boost is enabled, your phone uses some of its internal storage as a cache. Apps and data that aren’t actively being used are stored in internal storage instead of RAM. This frees up RAM for apps and processes that are in use, which can improve performance. If you regularly use multiple apps at once or play resource-intensive games, RAM Boost can help improve your phone’s performance. However, if you typically only use a handful of apps at a time, you may not notice any noticeable difference with RAM Boost enabled.
