After six years in this position, he resigned on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>Das Mootanah says he made the decision to leave \u201cafter careful consideration\u201d, following a new opportunity that was recently offered to him. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is of course with a heavy heart that I will say goodbye to all those with whom I worked day and night to make this project a success among so many challenges,\u201d he adds. <\/p>\n<p>In a message posted Tuesday evening on his Facebook page, he said he was \u201cvery proud of our achievements at MEL, including the delivery of the largest and most complex infrastructure project in Mauritius on time and on a record budget.  We successfully completed Phase 1 in October 2019 and commercial operations began in January 2020, followed by the delivery of the other phases until Phase 3 in January 2023. The metro has been fully operational for over a year, serving thousands of people daily.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Das Mootanah adds that it is \u201cproud of our sustainability initiatives, including the development of the Eb\u00e8ne multidisciplinary recreational park, multiple social parks along the alignment and the solar project.
