In a brief statement to the press, the lawyer said: \u201cI am very surprised by the verdict that must be respected.  The battle lasted 23 years.  It will last as long as it takes to rehabilitate the innocence of Bernard Maigrot.  \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Bernard Maigrot was taken to Beau-Bassin prison after the verdict.
