As part of the program for the care of children with cancer, fully funded by the State, the age of eligibility is extended from 18 to 25 years.

Additionally, for other serious medical conditions, the cap of Rs 1 million for the Overseas Treatment Program will be waived for pediatric patients up to the age of 18 years.

Thus, the government bears the entire cost of treatment in the best cancer treatment centers, both abroad and locally. This is the announcement made by the Minister of Finance, Renganaden Padayachy, this Friday, June 7.
