90 fines issued for not wearing seat belts in vehicles

90 tickets. This is the outcome of a “targeted operation” carried out by the police for failure to wear seat belts in vehicles across the country yesterday. Figure provided by the head of the Police Press Office, Inspector Shiva Coothen, to RadioPlus this Friday. 78 tickets were given to drivers, and the other 12 to passengers. These operations were carried out mainly in accident-prone areas across the country, Shiva Coothen said.
