Showtime Mauritius presents “Reviving the Golden Tunes 2”, an evening dedicated to nostalgia. It will feature Bollywood icon Alka Yagnik. The concert will take place on June 30 at the Trianon Convention Center.

Alka Yagnik, an Indian artist much appreciated by Mauritians, will be in Mauritius in June for a unique concert. Her melodious voice has captivated many for decades.

“In 2018, with another partner, we had the pleasure of inviting Alka Yagnik for a concert. She had performed on stage alongside artist Kumar Sanu. This concert was sold out, just like that of Lucky Ali last year, which was also a great success. We hope to repeat this experience this year,” confides Najllen Narainnen, director of Showtime Mauritius.

Thus, the Alka Yagnik concert promises nearly three hours of pure nostalgia, during which the artist will perform his greatest hits. Some of his timeless classics include: Jadoo Hai Tera Hi Jadoo, Gali Mein Aaj Chand Nikla, Taal se taal mila, Dilbar Dilbar, Tum Hi Ho, Agar Tum Saath Ho, Ek Do Teen.

“Iconic artists like Alka Yagnik have left an indelible mark on people’s minds. The oldest will relive their memories, while the youngest, who also know her, will be delighted to see her in concert. Alka Yagnik is renowned for her legendary charisma and incomparable vocal performances. Let’s look forward to a truly exhilarating musical experience,” adds Najllen Narainnen.

At the opening of the concert, spectators will have the pleasure of enjoying the performance of Albert Kabo Lepcha, winner of the popular music television show in India, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2023. He will delight the audience with several songs for around thirty of minutes.

“In 2023, we invited Sayli Kamble to open for the Lucky Ali concert and she gave a remarkable performance. For this concert, we chose Albert Kabo Lepcha, a promising young artist. »

However, the show doesn't end there. Two backing singers from the Indian star's team will also perform for half an hour. Gifts will be given to the public during the concert.

Alka Yagnik has lent her voice to many Bollywood actresses and has recorded a large number of hit songs. His versatility has allowed him to lend his voice to over 7,000 songs in various Indian languages.

She has received numerous awards and recognitions for her contribution to Indian music, including the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer.

She sings in various musical genres, from romantic to melodramatic, classical to popular. Some of his big hits include: “Ek Do Teen”, “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke”, “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, “Dhadkan”, “Taal”, among others.

Albert Kabo Lepcha was born on September 17, 1995 in Kalimpong. He showed a deep passion for music from a very young age. Albert Kabo Lepcha started his journey by participating in the Indian show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2023.

This platform served as a springboard to refine his vocal talent. Her renditions of 'Dil Ka Yeh Kya Raaz Hai…I Love You' from the film 'Bodyguard' and 'Khuda Jaane' from 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' left the jury, including Mere Soneya, in awe.
