Our client is recruiting an Audit Accountant
An Audit Accountant plays a crucial role in examining and evaluating financial records to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulations, and adherence to accounting standards. Your contribution will help the company maintain a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Engaged with auditor and FC for Planning of audit.
• Communicate/Evaluate new IFRS impact AFS.
• Prepare assessment of existing IFRS (ECL/Lease…)
• Tax computation for Mauritius entities.
• Assist in providing documents/info/explanation for audit purpose.
• Clear and assist auditor to clear queries with support.
• Assist in detail review all AFS.
• Follow up Auditors for smooth conclusion of audit.
• Finalization of AFS for signature and filling with FSC.
• Assess the suitability of current internal controls, making suggestions for improvements where needed.
• Ensure the business complies with all relevant policies (IFRS), industry regulations and government legislation.
• Liaise with and advise senior management on internal audit issues.
• Provide support to the wider financial team.
• Prepare Audit BS file month end closure for companies.
• Assist in quarterly audit.
• Assist in monitoring of closure of month with FC.
• All other adhoc duties both finance &logistics team.
• Assist in opening of new FY – ACCPAC with signed accounts.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, Partly or fully ACCA qualified, or a related field.
• Previous experience in finance, or any offshore related field is often preferred.
• Minimum 3 years – 5 years’ experience in audit
• Ability to analyze financial data and detect irregularities or inconsistencies.
• Precision and thoroughness in reviewing financial records to identify discrepancies.
• Effective communication, both written and verbal, to convey findings and recommendations clearly.
• Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple audit tasks efficiently.
• Efficient time management to meet audit deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Adherence to ethical standards and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
• Ability to work independently and objectively, maintaining independence from the entities being audited.
• Capability to identify and solve complex issues related to financial reporting and compliance.
• Collaboration with audit teams and other departments to ensure comprehensive and effective audit processes.
• Proficiency in using audit software, accounting software, and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques to extract meaningful insights from financial data.
• Willingness to stay updated on changes in accounting and auditing standards and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Understanding of audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting procedures.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Familiarity with tax regulations and their impact on financial reporting.
• Understanding of internal control systems and their importance in financial reporting.
• Industry-specific knowledge to tailor audit approaches based on the nature of the business.
• Knowledge of fraud detection techniques and risk mitigation strategies.
• Understanding of information technology auditing principles for audits involving IT systems.
• Awareness of legal requirements related to financial reporting and disclosure.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require overtime and extended hours.
