The Central Bank has released data on the country's gross official international reserves (GOIR). These stand at Rs 389 billion (equivalent to $8.19 billion) at the end of June 2024. This amount is Rs 84 billion higher than the corresponding month of last year and Rs 31 billion higher than in January 2024. It is worth noting that the dollar was estimated at Rs 47.58 on June 28, 2024 and at Rs 45.99 at the same time last year.

Furthermore, based on imports of goods and services for calendar year 2023, the reserves represented 12.9 months of imports at the end of June 2024.

Evolution of reserves in 2024:

– January: Rs 323 billion
– February: Rs 327 billion
– Mars: Rs 337 billion
– April: Rs 337 billion
– May: Rs 358 billion
– June: Rs 389 billion
