With a torrential rain warning in effect across the country, there will be no classes this Monday, April 22. The Ministry of Education has just issued a press release to this effect:

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, Science and Technology would like to inform the public that, following the torrential rains that hit the country today, Sunday April 21, there are no will not have classes in all public and private institutions of pre-primary, primary, secondary, SEN (Special Education Needs) schools, technical and vocational education centers including those of MITD and Polytechnics Mauritius as well as institutions of higher education, this Monday, April 22, 2024, in order to allow an assessment of the state of the institutions concerned and their cleaning.

Students in grades 1 to 8 will be able to follow classes on MBC channels, while those in grades 9 to 13 will be taught online.

Heads of establishments and non-teaching staff will have to go to their respective schools/centers so that they are in condition for a normal resumption of classes on Tuesday April 23, 2024.
