The government will have 27 hours to intervene during the budget debates. Sixteen hours will be given to the opposition. An agreement was signed between the Chief Whip, Kavi Doolub, and the Opposition Whip, Patrick Assirvaden, yesterday, June 3, to this effect. This was announced by the new opposition leader, Arvin Boolell, at a press conference this Tuesday afternoon, June 4.

Thus, if a member of the opposition has not used his 39 minutes during the debates, the time will be reallocated, underlined Arvin Boolell.

Also present at this press conference, the leader of the MMM said he was saddened not to be able to attend the presentation of the Budget this Friday due to his suspension. Paul Bérenger, in passing, affirmed his support for the new leader of the opposition.
