Maneesh Gobin responded to the opposition leader during the budgetary debates which began in the National Assembly this Monday, June 10.
He described Arvin Boolell's intervention as “disjointed”, “confetti” and “bland”.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also recalled that since the start of this five-year term, the government has maintained its stability while the parliamentary opposition has changed leader on four occasions.

Maneesh Gobin underlines that the last budget speech, like the previous ones, focused on social justice in order to lift Mauritians out of poverty.

The minister added that the Budget gives pride of place to “Economic Empowerment”, employment and the cost of living. According to him, there is a climate of confidence and serenity among the population and among economic operators. “All the lights are green,” he said.
