  • The 17th edition will be held on September 14

Will the participation record be broken? There were more than 3,700 runners, men and women combined, in the four races of the CIEL Ferney Trail in 2023. This year, for the 17th edition which will be held on September 14, the organizers expect even more participants. Beyond a simple sporting event, it is a unique opportunity to connect with nature, support social causes and discover the beauty of the Ferney region in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

What explains the enthusiasm for the CIEL Ferney Trail? The beauty of the Ferney Valley, a biodiversity sanctuary offering spectacular landscapes. But also, its strong commitment to sustainable development and social causes. The event focuses on supporting local initiatives that encourage responsible agriculture, the empowerment of women and people with disabilities, and the promotion of sport as a factor in social development.

Moreover, this year, the CIEL Ferney Trail will support three concrete projects: the purchase of a joëlette for the Rando Trail et Nature association; training women in sustainable agriculture; and support for the Vieux-Grand-Port football team. Committed runners will wear the colors of these three projects and encourage donations.

It is at the CIEL Ferney Trail Village, located in front of the old factory, that runners from all races will gather to start and celebrate their arrival. The flagship race, the C-Care 35km, will take seasoned runners to the top of Lion Mountain from the start of the race, before guiding them through the picturesque Ferney Hills. For young people and families, the Sunlife 5 km Fun Run offers a fun opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature in a group. Intermediate runners can take on the challenge of the CIEL 10 km (the most popular race) or the Bank One 18 km for an unforgettable sporting ride.

This year again, a child with a disability will have the chance to live an extraordinary experience thanks to the solidarity of the participants. Transported by joëlette by volunteers on the CIEL 10 km route, they will be able to fully enjoy communion with nature and experience an unforgettable moment.

The Trail Village will host local product stands, activities for children, and a recovery area with massages and medical assistance.

Registrations are open on the ROAG platform (roag.org).
