There is an extensive network of retail branches throughout the islandDescription des missions:Job objective:We are seeking a dynamic and strategic commercial director to lead our foreign exchange retail division in Mauritius. The Commercial Director will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding our retail branch network. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, sales, and strategic planning, with a strong understanding of the foreign exchange industry.Key Tasks & Responsibilities:1. Business Development Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to drive revenue growth and expand market share in the foreign exchange industry.
2. Retail Branch Growth: • Lead the expansion of our retail branch network by identifying strategic locations, negotiating leases, and overseeing branch openings and operations.3. Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Drive sales initiatives to increase transaction volumes and revenue streams across retail branches.
- Develop sales targets and KPIs for branch managers and sales teams.
4. Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and new business opportunities in the foreign exchange market.
5. Partnership Development:
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders to drive business growth and enhance our market presence.
6. Customer Experience:
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained across all retail branches.
- Implement initiatives to enhance customer experience and satisfaction.
7. Risk Management:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate risks associated with currency fluctuations, compliance, and operational issues.
8. Financial Performance:
- Monitor financial performance indicators, including revenue, profitability, and operational expenses.
- Develop strategies to optimize financial performance and achieve business objectives.
9. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing foreign exchange operations.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance. 10. Team Leadership:
- Provide strong leadership and direction to branch managers and sales teams.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior management roles, with a focus on business development, sales, and operations, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of driving business growth and expanding retail branch networks. • Strong understanding of the foreign exchange market, including currency trading, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve business objectives.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute business development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, financial reports, and performance metrics to make informed business decisions.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving targets and driving operational excellence.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence key decision-makers.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French and other languages will be an advantage.
- Mandatory driver’s license.
