Reporting to the Development Lead, this full-time and permanent position is based in Mauritius and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Technology department and its’ growth.Key responsibilities:
- Daily system maintenance including:
- Software installation
- Upgrades & system testing
- Promotion of changes (configuration or new) across the different environments
- Support to end-users as part of testing where necessary
- Backlog review for enhancement requests as well as new business requirements
- Approver for all component changes and coordinate business testing in UAT
- Work closely with Infrastructure team to ensure that system components are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with Platform owners on prioritization and sequencing with practical consideration to benefits, costs, resourcing, dependencies, Technology/Business strategy, risk, complexity, governance, architectural integrity and technical fit with other platform changes.
- Work closely with Component owners on data migration projects as well as onboarding of new clients/business acquisitions
- Also involves collaborating with external suppliers to interface with other applications
- Drive continuous improvement and process optimization and this involves:
- Standardize development and deployment process
- Ensure Group security standards are maintained in relation to all environment implementations.
- Escalation point of contact for any technology related issues and risks specific to the system component
- Provide support for internal and external portals linked to Platform products, such as Engage
- Contribute to the digital transformation strategy and be willing to take initiatives/ad hoc assignments driven by Group
- Collaborate with Development, Operations, and cross function teams to facilitate knowledge sharing; This includes:
- Technical, Service and Support documentations
- Providing detailed analysis of incidents and effectively communicate to all key stakeholders
- Participate in budgetary, business planning and project management processes
- Team player maintaining good working relationships with Senior Management Teams, the broader Technology function and Business user community
Key requirements
- Strong technical and strategic awareness.
- Specific knowledge of the Entity Management, Document Management System, Time Recording, Invoicing/Accounting client service offering, products, operational processes and controls (Desirable)
- Familiar with available technologies relevant to the component(s), ideally ViewPoint, S4/Hana and all associated products
- Knowledge of change management controls operating within a multinational and matrixed financial services group.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to effectively convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with natural ability to adapt language and communication style to suit the intended recipient
- Effective planning and organisational skills to manage competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain good relationships with all levels of the management and staff.
- Advanced business analysis skills to understand business needs
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to make meaningful contributions to solution design, to ensure due regard to the business perspective.
Relevant Experience and QualificationESSENTIAL:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps or related roles with demonstrated track record of successfully implementing and managing DevOps practices in complex environment
- A strong understanding of the clients, services, processes and data associated with the relevant component(s)
- Professional fluency in written and oral English
DESIRABLE:
- Background of contributing to project and programme portfolios
- Technology industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
- Excellent problem-solving and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Project/change management qualifications (e.g. Agile, Prince2)
- Operational and business analysis qualifications (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
