  • Several withdrawals via your bank card made
  • Deeraj N., the brother placed under arrest

He was incarcerated at the prison for two years following a conviction for manslaughter. Before starting his stay in prison, Dinesh N. had given the keys to his house to a friend and his brother Deeraj. But, when it is released in September 2022, this 45-year-old resident of Roches-Noires will say he had the shock of his life. According to him, a key to his house was missing from the set of keys he had given to his brother and his friend.

In his complaint, the ex-inmate explained that his brother allegedly went to his house to retrieve his bank card. As he was in prison, his brother would have to withdraw money from his account. That's not all ! His furniture, among other belongings, had disappeared. On Tuesday April 23, the Northern Division Crime Squad (CID) arrested Deeraj N, who lives in the house next door. He confessed his crime to the police.

Dinesh N. will say that he would never have thought that his “own” brother and other relatives would have taken advantage of his conviction to rob him. “Saki zot inn fer, zot inn profitt mo maler”. Dinesh tells Défi Plus that he had handed over the keys to his house to a mutual friend and to Deeraj. However, according to the investigation, Deeraj, after collecting the keys to the house, did not inform the other members of the family. “Mo ti say dirn li lakle e dir bann lezot fami okip mo lakaz. “So we don’t have any people and we end up working for this,” confides Dinesh.

What hurts him the most is that it was his “own” brother Deeraj who was going to abuse his trust and do this dirty trick to him. “Well after ki monn kone ki mo prop frer kinn fer sa”. According to Dinesh, his brother took his bank card and encouraged other relatives to take various items from his house. “Mo abitie blie, be monn ekrir mo kod pou mo kart labanq,” confides the 45-year-old man. Which made it easier for Deeraj and his gang when they came to his house in his absence.

“Zot inn bien fer tamtam kan mo pa ti là

On several occasions, according to Dinesh, his brother withdrew money from his savings of several thousand rupees. Also, items like his dining table, chairs and other furniture were taken away. A gas cylinder, a radio, a cell phone and a mattress were also missing. He says he is “disappointed” in his brother who knows how much he sacrificed for his house. “Si ou get lakwizinn-la, zot inn pran tou, nanie pann kite,” laments Dinesh. Losses are estimated at Rs 68,000.

He confided to Défi Plus that the day he returned home, empty alcohol bottles were collected on the premises. “Zot inn bien fer tamtam dan mo lakaz la kan mo pa ti la,” underlines Dinesh.
Dinesh also returned to his two-year prison sentence. “We won lager when we had a boy who shared our relationship with his mama,” he relates. Injured, the young man died after two months in hospital. Since 2020, Dinesh had been arrested and he spent two years behind bars.

According to Dinesh, some friends, who had been invited to drink in his house in his absence, told him that those close to him did not believe that he was going to get out of prison. “Tou dimounn dir monn fer krim monn touy sa garson-la, mo pou al kraz 30 banana! », Relates the forty-year-old. When he left prison, he said he noticed that some of his close friends had distanced themselves. “Mwa mo leker prop ek mo konsians kler. Finn arrived later, my son exceeded his…”, relates Dinesh. Now, he says he is focusing on the future.

While he was in prison, the suspect claims to have noticed money being withdrawn from his account. Between April and May 2021, Dinesh retrieved a bank statement. He noticed three money withdrawals from ATMs in Péreybère, amounting to Rs 10,000 each. However, according to Dinesh, he had not used his card and had never authorized anyone to use it.

He confides that the card was in a case placed in a display case in his living room. According to Dinesh, it was inevitably after her conviction that her brother and the gang would have recovered her. “My mistake is that you keep the code in place, and you have to furnish sak fwa,” relates Dinesh.

A painter by profession, Dinesh has a string of jobs landed thanks to his “contacts” for “gain enn lavi”. At the moment, as he lives alone, he is the one who takes care of everything. He then takes the road to Beaux-Songes where he works in a henhouse. “When you earn a job you don't get a contract, you don't get to work.” Dinesh says he is determined to lead a better life despite the difficult stage he has gone through.

At Défi Plus, Dinesh says he is not ready to forgive his brother. “Pa premier fwa li pe kokin dan mo lakaz. Pa kapav tou kou mem kou,” says Dinesh. He explains that his brother Deeraj changes addresses regularly. “Kouma li fane dan enn work, li plonz dimounn-la li ale”.

From now on, he says he has no choice but to have to reorganize himself little by little. “It will cost me quite a bit of money. When I work, I won what I can live for. Li pa fasil, released in prizon to al rekoumans zero so ki mo ti deza ena mo bann zafer. “No, I don’t have any clothes, I didn’t go out in prison,” Dinesh said sadly.
