This 34-year-old police officer, living in Pointe-des-Lascars, is one of two police officers who were rescued by the National Coast Guard after the boat he was in capsized at La Passe St-Géran, in Poudre-d'Or, on the night of Monday May 27.

Steeve Fortuno had gone on a fishing trip with three other colleagues, namely Naseerudin Mudoo, 40, Parkiyaven Moorghen and Vimal Sunnassy, ​​both 32.

On his hospital bed, Steeve Fortuno, owner of the said boat, returned to the tragedy. He said he was initially able to save the police officers who had fallen into the water, but a strong swell subsequently capsized their boat.

Remember that Naseerudin Mudoo was also rescued, while constables Moorghen and Sunnassy remain untraceable. The search continues to find them.
