After transactions amounting to Rs 1.03 billion and Rs 1.02 billion last February and March, the sum of foreign exchange transactions by banks and foreign exchange dealers in April rose to Rs 988.8 million.

Foreign exchange purchases made in April 2024 are higher by Rs 43 million compared to the corresponding period last year. It was in December ($660.9 million) that banks and currency traders purchased the largest amount of currencies over the entire 12 months.
