Two suspected thieves were arrested in a cane field in Argy on Sunday February 18. Their presence there was spotted by a team from the anti-drug squad, which was carrying out an operation in the region.
These sleuths immediately contacted their colleagues in the criminal brigade.
After a chase, the two 30-year-old men were arrested on the spot. One of the suspects had in his possession a handbag, containing around Rs 170,000 and jewelry with an estimated value of around Rs 500,000.
The suspect explained to the sleuths that he had picked up the bag in the cane field. However, this explanation did not convince investigators.
As for his friend, the alleged accomplice, was allowed to leave after his interrogation.
