LIVE NEWS

For years, we have been talking about new faces on the political scene. However, these changes remain ephemeral, because instead of surrounding themselves with new faces, traditional parties cultivate a form of personality cult by focusing on their leaders as well as old guard politicians. With the general elections approaching, will the emerging parties be able to succeed in this challenge of renewal while the traditional parties have failed in this attempt? A word from those most concerned.

Fadhil Mollabux, responsible for the economic file and also reforms within Linion Moris: “We need new blood to lead our country towards a better future”

fadhil mollabuxWe have witnessed the performance of traditional parties. However, for the upcoming elections, I believe they will not include a sufficient number of young politicians, because they are not willing to admit that sooner or later they will have to hand over the ultimate decision-making power to another person.

Do you think that Navin Ramgoolam or Pravind Jugnauth are ready to give up the position of Prime Minister in the coming decades? They fought for this position purely for power. However, to highlight one of our main objectives on which Linion Moris is adamant, it is the creation of a separate ministry called “Ministry of the Interior”, which will have the responsibility of fighting corruption, trafficking and drug consumption and to establish public order adapted to our country.

I can proudly say that Linion Moris is based on a young and dynamic team, and the “seniors” act as “gurus” for us. LM does not rely on a single individual, unlike other teams. We have six teams within Linion Moris and we have all agreed on a “government agenda”.

It is also important to note that we need new blood to lead our country towards a better future. However, being young is not enough. We need people who work with 100% honesty, because we have seen since 2014, that young politicians have also proven to be as corrupt as previous teams. I can proudly say that the members of Linion Moris have the honesty and integrity to lead the country. We invite the Mauritian youth to support and join Linion Moris, as our island has been described as an autocracy in the V-dem report. It is therefore our duty to defend our future and transform our country into a real and functioning democratic state.

Géraldine Geoffroy, president of the Reform Party: “The leader embodies renewal because of his age”

geraldine geoffroyThe ultimate goal of the Reform Party is precisely to bring renewal at all levels. The leader himself embodies renewal through his age, his functioning and who dares to present himself as Prime Minister against the eternal Jugnauth / Ramgoolam. The party executive is made up of new faces on the political spectrum. The same goes for potential candidates for the next legislative elections.

That said, we must also note the paradox of the electorate which, on the one hand, says it wants renewal and gets rid of the old ones and, on the other hand, struggles to trust the new ones whom it describes as unknown. and novice who lacks experience. The question that always comes up when we survey the field is: who are the candidates? And the first reaction is not always very enthusiastic when faced with new faces and new blood.

Padma Utchanah, President of the Citizen Rally for the Fatherland (RCP): “A new lease of life is emerging on the horizon”

padma utchanahIt's a war between the clans, everyone wants to ensure the sustainability of their offspring. It is the monopolization of power by dynasties (Jugnauth, Ramgoolam, Duval, Bérenger). They are very far from the concerns of the people who struggle to make ends meet. Only the transfer of the throne to the descendants matters to these power-hungry people.

Just like Gollum in the Lord of the Rings saga, they want to possess the famous “My Precious”. However, the people have had enough of being taken for ping-pong balls. Mauritians are thirsty for change. They have only one wish, to leave room for young people in politics and emerging parties.

Linion Moris fully meets the expectations of disappointed citizens. Dynamism is on our side. We are carrying out monumental work on the ground, in the streets, and with strong proposals, where the opposition failed miserably. We have already presented our Shadow cabinet with bold proposals such as the Ministry of the Interior, which will no longer be under the aegis of the Prime Minister. Rising figures in politics can be found at Linion Moris.

A new lease of life is emerging on the horizon. A new political model is emerging with Linion Moris giving hope to Mauritians.
