Manchester United led almost the entire match in Wolverhampton, suffered an equalizer in added time but snatched an incredible 4-3 victory with a final goal from Kobbie Mainoo, their 18-year-old nugget, on Thursday during the 22nd day.

The Red Devils took the upper hand over their hosts in the 90th + 7 thanks to a slalom full of determination and a curling shot full of composure from their young midfielder.

This victory allows Erik ten Hag's team, seventh, to obtain a first victory in 2024 in the championship and to come back to one point of sixth, West Ham, hung 1-1 by Bournemouth earlier in the evening.

For Manchester, however, the evening almost ended in a huge waste, after leading 2-0 in the 22nd minute, then again 3-1 in the 75th.

The Wolves had their fangs much sharper in the home stretch, a desire affirmed by the goals of Maximilian Kilman (85th, 3-2) then Pedro Neto (90th +5).

But at the age of 18, Mainoo removed a big thorn from his teammates' side with this first goal in the Premier League, four days after his first in the Manchester United jersey, in the FA Cup against Newport County (4- 2).

This finish relegates to the background the third goal in three league matches from Marcus Rashford (4th, 1-0) and the new pawn from Rasmus Hojlund (22nd, 2-0), already a decisive passer for the English winger.
