QuestionsAccommodation-HotelsJuly 2024 hotel recommendation
Mr__T_ asked 8 months ago

We are looking for an all inclusive holtel on Mauritius, (prefared adults only) in July 2024, is the east coast as windy and they say, that time of year? We have found a nice hotel in our price range, but it is on the east coast. There are a few others slightly more expensive on the north, and north west coast. I have read the beaches on the east are the nicest. The hotels are: East coast: Radison Blu poste, Lafayette.(our favorite) Others we are looking at are: North west: Canonnier beachcomber. Ocean Villas. North: Hotel coin De Mire. Lagoon Attitude. Any experiences, thoughts and recommendations? Thanks.

I don’t know about hotels, but yes July in the east coast it windy basically every day. I still love it, but it’s not everyone’s taste.

The better area is North or West as July is winter and the trade winds can bother the East.

Canonnier Beachcomber. End of discussion.

Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette does not really have a great beach or sea as such. You might consider the hotel Ambre at Belle Mare if you really want to have a better beach and nicer sea to swim in, I have been to both hotels; Ambre is adults only.

It is winter time in July but the temperature is not that bad, maybe 22 degrees minimum. It sort of feels like mid or late October in Europe. It might be a bit windy but it is not chilly. The wind is not as bad as you think.

Canonnier beachcomber as well is an excellent choice, the beach Mont Choisy is close by and worth going to. I have been to InterContinental Resort Mauritius as well, and service wise, it is my best experience so far, One&Only Le Saint Géran is not behind either.

Mauritius is also home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites - the first is Aapravasi Ghat, where Indian labourers were brought over by the Britishers to work on the sugarcane plantations. The name translates to immigration depot. The second World Heritage Site - Mont Le Morne Brabant was once a sanctuary for the slaves who escaped their master's oppressive rule in the 18th and early 19th centuries. This mountain is a popular trekking destination and can provide trekkers with views of a lifetime.
