Paul , you can get some reasonable scotches at a duty free store you will have to pay top odds to take it to drink (and i buy my scotches from the whisky castle in Tomintoul)

I was in Bullies Social in grand Baie and chatting to the owner he was telling me about their whiskeys, depending where you are staying worth going there. The food is also great

Paul Glover I am too a whiskey drinker – there was a great night at the Maritim – we went for a rum tasting but Paul John was there with their single malt and I believe there are other upcoming Whiskey evenings planned – was really worth it from ambience/ service/ quality

Give a try to our local Goodwill Rum it worth it anyway you can have whisky in bars nearly all over the country starting from local to imported ones less expensive than in hotels

No grain really grown in the island for local whisky – but plenty of sugar cane for decent rum!

No good local whisky better to buy your own there are excellent rhum distilleries though
