QuestionsGeneral-MiscMauritian expats across the world, what did/do you do with your Mauritian assets?
Pacific9 asked 8 months ago

So I have been pondering over what to do with my assets in Mauritius. They are mostly agricultural or vacant residential plots of land all over the place.Given that I visit the island every couple of years or so, looking after them can be quite a hassle. I'd like to know what the most convenient way is to maximise those assets. I'm partial to selling them and let someone else worry about their future.Anyone overseas has tips on how you've gone about to juggling those two lives?

Don’t sell them. You will never be able to buy them back. I don’t think you will want to retire in a cold country.

If you are not planning to come back to mauritius then you can sell the properties as with new regulations people are being fined for not keeping their properties cleaned and people dumping all kinds of stuffs into unoccupied properties.

Legendary American writer Mark Twain was once quoted saying: "Mauritius was made first and then heaven, and heaven was copied after Mauritius." Well, that's some praise!
