Hello everyone. We want to go to Mauritius with our children for the first time next year. As we are dependent on the holidays, we have decided on August.
What are your experiences with the weather in August, as it is "winter" in Mauritius. What are the normal local temperatures like? Is it still pleasant for swimming? Does it often rain during the winter season?
I would be very happy to hear about your experiences

temperature will be like 15 during night and 18-23 during tbe day. so for us mauritians this is cold. but a lot of people from europe find it still comfortable because they are used to cold temperatures. there is sun during the day and its quite nice. i recommend you take a hotel with heated pool though

Stayed in the East this August. Arrived to rain. Week one was a mixed bag with wind and some grey days but we were out and about all over the island exploring. Week two was still and no wind in the east.

Sea was warmer than the pool, our kids were in the pool most days. Booked North West for next summer

We are from the U.K. and visited July/August last year and stayed in the North West side of the island. We were advised that this was better for winter and it was beautiful. We had rain showers, but nothing that lasted. The weather was around 20-23 most days and we needed the sun shades sone days and always needed sun screen. The photo was our last morning. There was often light cloud which gave a little break from the heat.

My daughter general comes over in Aug to us on the west coast. Weather is normally better than a British summer.
