Please assist with recommendations for-

walk to Grand Baie centre … you will find all services – tour companies , diving , shops and restaurants … use local individual licensed and registered tradespeople who are working on their own account … support the small traders , taxi drivers and local people with your custom .

They are in Bain Boeuf. From what I got to understand, they are very professional and friendly.

Groceries : Winners supermarket in Pereybere. For much more variety : Super U in Grand Bay.

Our taxi driver Nen is excellent. You are welcome to pop into Ocean Spirit
to book your dives, and our colleagues at Malyra next door can help with you excursion planning. And Winners is one if the best Supermarkets in Mauritius and its between us and Bsin Boeuf

When you leave the airport plenty of people will induce you into taking their taxis as they are the owners and subcontract a driver. The cheapest way is to walk towards the car park, and you will get a cheaper rate with owner taxi drivers. From my last trip it was about Rs 2,000.

Legendary American writer Mark Twain was once quoted saying: "Mauritius was made first and then heaven, and heaven was copied after Mauritius." Well, that's some praise!
