Siddick Chady breathes freedom after 8 months in prison. The former minister and ex-president of the Mauritius Ports Authority was sentenced on appeal to 15 months in prison for corruption in the Boskalis affair. He spent his first night in prison on July 29, 2023.

Under the remission system, Siddick Chady served only two-thirds of the time he was sentenced to. Good behavior and the completion of chores in prison also entitle you to a reduction in prison time.

On TéléPlus this evening, Siddick Chady affirms that he will continue to serve the country. “Kouma dir mo finn ale fer I’tikaaf,” he said. Extract from the Info Soirée edition of this Wednesday, May 15.
