Which task can you expect?
The Senior Payroll Executive role is to deliver a managed payroll service to clients in a professional, friendly, efficient manner leading to continued business retention and growth. The Senior Payroll Executive l will liaise and communicate appropriately and effectively with team members and internal and external stakeholders
Roles & Responsibilities
- Effectively plan and manage own workload, managing, servicing and delivering customer payrolls to agreed deadlines
- Participate in team huddles to ensure risks and issues are highlighted and followed through to closure
- Communicate effectively handling routine, non-routine and complex customer queries regarding payroll and HR related issues, including liaising with both internal and external contacts
- Identify opportunities to advise and assist other team members, including cover for other team members as and when required
- Validate and input all data received to agreed SLAs
- Check input data and make all relevant corrections before the live run
- Manage all aspects of Tax Year end processing for customers
- Manage and support the customer in the processing of their payrolls to ensure payments/reports to employees are made accurately and on time
- Provision and delivery of their performance statistics, including root cause to the Team Manager to meet reporting requirements
- Support the Team Manager in creating the RCA documentation
- Recognise and promote opportunities for Added Value Services
- Actively identify improvements that drive process efficiencies and profitability.
- Compliance with statutory regulations, and provide guidance to customer and colleagues
- Demonstrate good knowledge of legislation and products
- Maintain Standard Operating Processes and update with changes
- Take responsibility for own personal development plan in line with Company objectives and values
- Actively share and promote best practice methodologies
- Ensure Payroll delivery is completed to agreed SLA. with adherence to quality standards and practices
- Participate where appropriate in customer service reviews
- Support plan capacity/workload for the team
- Deliver training of new starters- buddy/shadowing team members.
- Support Juniors on managing training plan.
- Support Team Manager with skill gap analysis.
- Promote SD Worx Values
- Use initiative to explore ways to improve processes, performance and aspects of their role, driving PSS and PC to identify best practices and improvements
Knowledge, Technical Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years payroll experience
- Attention to detail with the ability to analyse data
- Expert in UK Legislation – above average knowledge on UK Legislation
- Understanding and processing end to end payroll
- Manage complex queries and escalations with advanced query resolution
- Good communication
- Time and workload management
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
