Hans Avinash Heeroo's troubles with the law never end. This 36-year-old resident of Beau-Bassin is, this time, being prosecuted for kidnapping and for unleashing his dogs on police officers. The offense dates back to January 30, 2017 in Beau-Bassin. In this case, three other individuals were also worried.

In January 2017, in Beau-Bassin, Hans Avinash Heeroo, 36, allegedly kidnapped a woman and threw his dogs at police officers. Three accomplices, Mohammad Fadhil Ismael Sheik Fareed Nubbee (23 years old), Marie Francess Bijou (55 years old) and Marie Christelle Véronique Baptiste (32 years old), are also suspected in this case.

Hans Avinash Heeroo is being prosecuted on three charges: false imprisonment, “obstructing police officer” and “inciting a dog to attack”. The 30-year-old is accused of having, on January 30, 2017, kidnapped a 28-year-old young woman in a vehicle from her home to her home. He is then accused of having obstructed four police officers preventing them from doing their work and of having released a Rottweiler on one of them. His acolytes are being prosecuted for “obstructing police officer” and “inciting dog to attack”. A list of nineteen witnesses has been drawn up as part of this trial which will be called on May 20, 2024.

According to the facts, sleuths from the Beau-Bassin criminal squad had raided the thirty-year-old's home following a complaint from a resident of Beau-Bassin. She had maintained that Hans Avinash Heeroo and his friend, a man named Yogesh Hemraz, had kidnapped and held her little sister. When the police arrived, they encountered resistance. Hans Avinash Heeroo's home was guarded by hounds, including Rottweilers. The 30-year-old came out, armed with a knife, and threatened the officers preventing them from pursuing his friend Yogesh Hemraz.

The owner then released a dog on one of the police officers, shouting “Manz li, manz li”. He owes his salvation to the prompt intervention of his colleagues to rescue him from the clutches of the hound. Hans Avinash Heeroo's acolytes had incited the dogs to attack the police officer by shouting “yes manz li manz li”. The officers were subsequently able to free the young woman who was held captive in a car near the Heeroo home. On January 31, 2017, the police raided the scene but the defendant fled by car. A chase ensued, leading to his arrest.

The Beaubassinois is known to have a long criminal record. He has been convicted numerous times for drug and theft offenses. On October 19, 2016, he had already refused access to his home to officers from the anti-drug brigade who came to carry out a search in the wake of a drug case. He had also unleashed his dogs on them. On October 15, 2018, he was sentenced to one year in prison in the intermediate court for this offense.
