No cases of cholera were detected on board the Norwegian Dawn, which was in quarantine off the coast of Mauritius. The sick passengers are suffering from gastroenteritis, as confirmed by representatives of the Ministry of Health during a press conference held this Monday afternoon, February 26.

Thus, the quarantine order imposed on cruise ship passengers off the coast of Mauritius has been lifted. The Norwegian Dawn will be able to dock in Port-Louis today, allowing passengers to disembark and embark for the rest of the cruise.

It is important to emphasize that since Saturday, the Mauritian authorities have been on alert. A medical team made up of doctors, nurses and agents from the health department was sent on board to take samples. They took care of the sick.

The ship is currently stationed off the coast of Port Louis. This liner first left Cape Town in South Africa, then stopped at Nosy-Be, Madagascar.
