Transfer opportunity: places available in academies for Grade 10

Places remain available in several academies at the start of the year, offering Grade 10 students a chance to change schools.

This possibility is aimed both at parents whose children are already enrolled in Grade 10 and wish to transfer, as well as at those who have completed the request form, but have not yet received confirmation.

Parents are invited to complete a new form at one of the centers designated by the Ministry of Education. This transfer procedure will take place this Friday, February 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A first exercise was held on Wednesday January 31. The registration centers are distributed as follows:

Zone 1: Royal College Port-Louis, Cassis Port-Louis

Zone 2: Ministry of Education, rue Sir F. Herchenroder, Beau-Bassin

Zone 3: Sookdeo Bissoondoyal State College, Rose-Belle

Zone 4: Ministry of Education, Level 2, Ebene Heights, Ébène

It is important to emphasize that parents have the freedom to choose the academy that best suits their preferences. Once the place has been allocated, students will have to select the subjects from those available.

Upon check-in, parents will need to present the following documents:

• The student’s original birth certificate
• Parent’s identity card
• National Certificate of Education (NCE) results 2023
• The student's letter of admission (if available) to the academy in the event of a transfer request

It should be remembered that after the previous NCE tests, 2,069 students (1,069 girls and 1,000 boys) had obtained a place in one of the 12 academies. This new transfer opportunity therefore offers an additional chance for parents and students to join these establishments.

Note that this transfer exercise has already been postponed twice due to bad weather in recent days.
