“We hope to stay alive so well,” wishes Varusha, the cousin of Parkiyaven Moorghen, called Vishalen by those close to him. This 32-year-old police officer from Goodlands, assigned to the Piton detention center, is missing at sea. The boat in which the police officer was, along with three other colleagues, capsized at La Passe St-Géran, in Poudre -d'Or, on the night of Monday May 27. The four police officers had left for a fishing trip.

“He left the house around 4 p.m. He didn't return. We heard the news of his disappearance this morning. (…) He is a fighter. We hope to find him again,” says Varusha Narayanen. Watch his testimony in the attached video.

Note that Parkiyaven Moorghen's colleague, Vimal Sunnassy, ​​aged 32 and living in Roches-Noires, is also missing. The search to find these two police officers continues.

Furthermore, their two friends, police officers Naseerudin Mudoo, 40, and Steeve Fortuno, 34, were rescued by the National Coast Guard.
