A heavy rain watch is in effect in Mauritius until 6 p.m. this Thursday, April 4, 2024.

“Active clouds associated with an area of ​​instability are approaching our region from the western sector,” indicates the weather station in its bulletin issued this morning.

The weather will be cloudy with scattered showers. Showers could be moderate to locally heavy, at times accompanied by thunderstorms, causing temporary accumulations of water in certain places. Fog pockets are also planned on the tops.

The maximum temperature will be between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius on the central plateau and between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius on the coast.

The minimum temperature will be between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius in the heights and between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius in the coastal regions.

The wind blows from the northeast at 25 km/h with gusts of around 55 km/h, weakening further during the day.

The sea is rough beyond the reefs, with waves of around 2.50 m. Outings on the high seas are not recommended.

Practical advice :

In the event of heavy thunderstorms, it is recommended:
1. to stay in a safe place and avoid open spaces, hiking, going out to sea and sheltering under trees;
2. avoid places conducive to water accumulation; And
3. to be very careful on the roads due to reduced visibility due to heavy showers and fog patches.
