A heavy rain warning was issued at 9 a.m. this Thursday April 4 by the Vacoas meteorological station; notice valid until 4 a.m. this Friday April 5, 2024.

“Active clouds associated with an area of ​​instability coming from the western sector influence the local weather. Moderate to heavy showers with thunderstorms are observed in the West and the South. These showers are expected to spread over the island mainly on the central plateau, leading to accumulations of water in certain regions. Visibility will be reduced due to fog and showers in some areas,” the weather service warns.

The public is advised:
1. To stay in safe places and avoid open spaces, hiking, going out to sea and sheltering under trees during thunderstorms.
2. Avoid places prone to accumulation of water.
3. To be very careful on the roads due to reduced visibility.
