Mauritius is under a heavy rain watch until 6 p.m. this Monday, February 26. The reason: rather active clouds associated with a line of instability coming from the east influence the local weather.

“Cloudy periods are expected this afternoon and early evening with showers especially over the eastern half of the island, in the south and on the central plateau. These showers could be moderate to locally heavy with isolated thunderstorms,” explains forecaster Muniir Shamtally. He spoke on RadioPlus at midday. Thus, he specifies, the heavy rain watch warning remains in force.
