QuestionsGeneral-MiscVisiting Mauritius after 20 years

Hi everyone, My partner and I will be visiting Mauritius in a few weeks. I was born there but I have no family left and haven’t been there since more than two decades.Do you have any tips for me? I’d love to know for example: - where the best spots for dal puri, boulettes etc are now? What are the prices now? I don’t want to get the tourist price. - am I expected to haggle at markets when buying souvenirs or is that something of the past? - what are the new must-sees? I understand lots of new malls opened up too. Is it all duty free? I remember some talk about Mauritius turning into a duty free island? How does it work? - is security while walking around ok? I’m travelling with my American partner who’s obviously a tourist. We’ll be renting a car to explore the rest of the island but I’ll be near pereybere. - is tipping culture in Mauritius now? - anything else I should know?Very excited to see my compatriotes soon :))Merci beaucoup!Edit: I’ll be there from December 31st - January 15th.
