I need to exchange cash before my arrival.
Is it best paying in Mauritian Rupee? I see Euro mentioned everywhere? A little confused.

Yes a lot of the street markets and stall and little shops will only take rupee I haven’t used euro whilst over here

I’d suggest you to pay in MUR

When travelling abroad, Only pay in the currency of the country you are visiting.

You will need rupees here. You can exchange at the airport. At least I did it and was good rate.

We drew out what we needed from a cash machine. Our bank cards or revolute don’t charge a transaction fee.

When you are in Rome , do as the romans hence pay in Mauritius currencies. It’s good rate of exchange at the airport once you have cleared out immigration!!
