Hello does Mauritius have free WiFi?

in public places, like Airports, restaurants etc. Else will cost you only around $0.40 per day for a 24 full Day package over mobile data on all networks

In most places we been to have free Wi-Fi even the beach got free wi fi

I mean, the question is where. Most accommodations will have free WiFi, also restaurant and other public places as mentioned.

When we visited (fairly recently), I got the tourist SIM, which I think is a good option. For 750 Rs (so around ~17 USD), you can get a tourist SIM from either My.t or Emtel, which comes with 200 GB of mobile data that is valid for a month. Which is enough for most cases in my opinion, and I had solid coverage all over the island.

At the airport, stop by Mauritius telecom counter and by a tourist SIM card with unlimited data…. Very Cheap and you got good signal throughout the island

Most of the shopping malls and restaurants have..or else not a free wifi island so sad about it…as compared to Australia USA

Yes free WiFi even sometimes in the middle of nowhere.
