The Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) has received a letter of complaint regarding Police Commissioner Anil Kumar Dip. This information was confirmed by Navin Beekarry, Director General of the FCC, on Friday morning.
“We have just received a complaint, we will have to follow the procedures,” he said in response to a question from the press on the subject. Navin Beekarry was participating in the presentation of the FCC Act at the Bank of Mauritius this Friday morning, June 28.
He explained that according to the procedures, a preliminary investigation must first be conducted. Then there will be “further investigations” depending on the results of the preliminary investigation.
Recall that the Commissioner of Police, Anil Kumar Dip, is facing allegations regarding the acquisition of official cars, according to a letter of denunciation addressed to the Financial Crimes Commission. According to this letter, Anil Kumar Dip would use three new company cars financed by taxpayers' money, worth Rs 22,870,880, for his relatives and himself.
