The Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) is implementing the measures announced in the 2024-2025 Budget as of Monday, July 1. Full-time workers will benefit from a guaranteed minimum monthly income of Rs 20,000, with a supplementary allowance of up to Rs 500.
The Child Allowance for children from birth to three years will be increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 per month.
A School Allowance of Rs 2,000 per month will be paid to all children aged 3 to 10 years. The system for the school allowance is under development as it is a new measure, explains Mamad Oozeer, Director of Operations at MRA. He clarifies that for the CSG Income Allowance and the Child Allowance, no application is required as these measures already exist.
