Navin Beekarry was answering questions from the press following the presentation of the Financial Crimes Commission Act at the Bank of Mauritius this morning.

The former Integrity Reporting Services Agency (IRSA) is appealing a summary judgment of Justice Shameen Hamuth Laulloo, rendered on January 12, 2022. The agency responsible for the recovery of unexplained wealth had seen its application for confiscation of the assets seized from Navin Ramgoolam’s home in Floréal on February 6, 2015, dismissed. Dissatisfied, IRSA had appealed.
