The verdict fell in the Assize Court at 9:40 p.m. this Thursday, June 27. Bernard Maigrot was found guilty of the murder of stylist Vanessa Lagesse. She was found dead in her bathtub in her bungalow in Grand-Baie on March 10, 2001. After six hours of deliberation, the jury pronounced a guilty verdict against the businessman by a majority of seven to two. . Defended by Mr. Gavin Glover, Bernard Maigrot, 60, pleaded not guilty. The prosecution was represented by Me Darshana Gayan, Senior Assistant DPP, in this trial chaired by Luchmeeparsad Aujayeb.
