Abercrombie police are investigating the knife attack on a 25-year-old woman on the evening of Friday, June 28, in Riche-Terre. She was injured and was treated at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam National Hospital. In her complaint, the woman points the finger at her ex-boyfriend, a 24-year-old man who lives in Triolet. The suspect is being sought by police.

The complainant explains that around 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28, her ex-boyfriend called her and asked her to come meet him in the parking area of the Riche-Terre cemetery. Since she lives not far from the meeting place, she accepted. She went to the meeting and got into the suspect's car. They argued shortly after. And the 24-year-old man allegedly blamed him for leaving him. He allegedly locked the doors and punched her several times in the face. “Linn komens tap mwa. “Li dir mwa linn desid pou touy mwa zordi,” the young woman confided to Défi Media Group. The suspect then allegedly started his car, with the woman on board, to go near a bridge not far from the scene. He allegedly stopped and took out a box cutter. The woman received several blows to her body with a cutter and was allegedly bitten by the suspect on her hands as she tried to defend herself. “Li tir cutter li dir zordi zordi to pou gagn mark lor to figir”, relates the young woman.

She claims she was forced to tell her ex that she agreed to get back together with him. The suspect then asked her to call her mother to tell her. Only then did he calm down and drop the young woman off at her house.

To explain his injuries and avoid being caught, the suspect told the young woman to tell her relatives that she had been injured in a car collision. “He told me to tell your mother that she had been hit,” the victim said.

When he left her, the young woman immediately alerted the police. The police took her to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Hospital in Pamplemousses and then took her to the Abercrombie police station to have her complaint registered. The Triolet police were called in to find the suspect.
