Arianne Navarre-Marie was expelled and “named” by the Speaker of the National Assembly on Tuesday, July 2.
This was during the question period for ministers. This came after a protest by Minister Kalpana Koonjoo Shah who reported to Sooroojdev Fokeer that the MMM MP had uttered the word “comic”.
Refusing to withdraw her remarks, the purple MP was expelled from the chamber.
The Speaker is expected to decide on the length of his suspension by this afternoon. In a statement to RadioPlus, Arianne Navarre-Marie speaks of an unfair decision.
