The Central Water Authority (CWA) board has established an independent investigation committee to determine whether allegations made by the former Chief Internal Auditor against the agency's Chief Executive Officer are true. The information was provided by Energy and Utilities Minister Joe Lesjongard in response to the Opposition Leader's Private Notice Question (PNQ) in the National Assembly on Tuesday, July 2.

In his resignation letter, Yousra Lalmohamed, the former Chief Internal Auditor, had accused Prakash Maunthrooa of verbal aggression and intimidation.

Arvin Boolell, for his part, called for the dismissal or suspension of the CWA Director General.
