Pointe-aux-Sables: discovery of traces of fuel oil in a mouth

Traces of fuel oil were spotted in a mouth in Pointe-aux-Sables on Tuesday, July 2. At this stage, according to our cross-checks, they do not represent a threat to marine wildlife. Floating barriers have been placed to contain the spread.

Officers from the Environment Ministry, the Environment Police and other units are at the scene. The police have launched an investigation to determine the source of the spill, said Inspector Shiva Coothen, head of the police communication cell.
